On April 3, 2008, a solemn and dignified first-publishing ceremony of a fact-recording book entitled H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, which published jointly by the World Buddhism Publishing LLC and the World Dharma Voice, Inc., was held at the Library of the Congress of the United States. The book was also formally accepted into the collection of the Library of the Congress of the United States. Only since that time, did people in the world know that Master Wan Ko Yee, who had been broadly respected by the great masses and who had also been known as Great Dharma King Yangwo Yeshe Norbu, had been recognized by the world’s leaders, regent dharma kings, and great rinpoches of Buddhism through official documents as the third incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha, who is the primordial Sambhogakaya Buddha of the universe. The Buddha’s name is H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Since then, people began to address His Holiness the Buddha by “Namo[1] Dorje Chang Buddha III.” This is similar to the situation that Sakyamuni Buddha’s name was Prince Siddhartha Gotama before attaining Buddhahood. However, after Sakyamuni Buddha had attained Buddhahood, His title changed to “Namo Sakyamuni Buddha.” That is why we now address His Holiness the Buddha as “H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.”

In particular, on December 12, 2012, the Senate Resolution No. 614 of the United States Congress officially used “His Holiness” in the name addressing Dorje Chang Buddha III (That is to say, “H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.”) Since then, the title and status of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has been definitive by nature. And, as a matter of fact, “Dorje Chang Buddha III” is a name used legally in governmental and official legislative documents. Therefore, the previously used respected name and titles such as “Wan Ko Yee,” Great Master, and Great Dharma King no longer exist.

However, the news below was published before the Buddha’s title of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was publicly announced. At that time, people did not know about the true status of His Holiness the Buddha. Therefore, to respect the true history, we still kept the names used before the title of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was legitimately determined in republishing this news. However, all must clearly know that the only legitimate name of His Holiness the Buddha is H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and all other names used before the legitimate determination no longer exist.

Being slandered for fraud in the past, now the truth of this falsely created case has been brought to the public, providing more evidence on the fact that all H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha IIIdoes is to benefit living beings.

People who have read articles discussing His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III might assume he is a villain given the rumors that tend to spread on the Internet. Since the public security department of China’s Guangdong Province issued an arrest warrant for the case of “Yi Yungao’s Fraud” long ago, there has been much speculation as to what the truth actually is. That arrest warrant was reported to the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), which also issued its own arrest warrant based on China’s request. The fact is, “Yi Yungao” is H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s worldly name before being recognized as the Buddha. However, after more than 12 years since INTERPOL issued that arrest warrant, why can He still travel freely from country to country without being arrested? Shouldn’t this fact make people wonder whether He is a criminal or not? H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III spends much of his time publicly in the United States. Not only does He never go into hiding, He also visits different countries to teach and receive people of all walks openly. He even went to the U. S. Capitol to accept the “World Peace Prize” in person. Many policemen were at the site on that day, yet no arrests were made. INTERPOL could have had Him apprehended without any effort. Then, why didn’t they? What is the truth behind this situation?

The so-called case of “Yi Yungao’s Fraud”, according to insiders, was actually a forged case jointly fabricated by Zhou Yongkang, the then Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chen Shaoji , the then Secretary of the Politics and Law Committee and the Police Chief of Guangdong Province (who later served as the chairman of the Political Consultative Conference of Guangdong Province and was sentenced to death with reprieval for embezzlement and corruption in 2010) for framing H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.

This incident dates back to 1999, when Lau Pak Hun and Wong Hiu Shui were H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s students. Due to an occurrence of fraud at the Master Yi Yungao Museum in Hong Kong, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III told the museum’s members to form a team of inspection and reporting and to put up a report box. Wong Hiu Shui begged H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to withdraw the inspection and reporting but was rejected by His Holiness. Since Wong Hiu Shui was the person committing the fraud, she generated deep hatred. On the next day after the team of inspection and reporting was formed, she beclouded Lau Pak Hun and some other people by smearing H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as a villain doing all evils. That caused the Master’s Museum to be closed down three days later and the team of inspection and reporting to be dismissed automatically.

Wong Hiu Shui’s godfather, Mr. Niu, was from Sichuan and was the deputy minister of a ministry of the Central Government at that time. His son was a business partner of Wong Hiu Shui’s. Mr. Niu was directly acquainted with the then Communist Party Secretary of Sichuan Province, Zhou Yongkang, and the corrupt official in Guangdong, Chen Shaoji, through work relations. With hatred towards H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, Mr. Niu, together with Zhou Yongkang and Chen Shaoji, planned and fabricated the case of “Yi Yungao’s Fraud.” Zhou Yongkang and the then Mayor of Chengdu, Li Chuncheng, both signed the persecution document that forcefully ordered the closure of the Master Yi Yungao Museum, built by the Dayi County Government and approved by the Chengdu City Planning Committee, a property that belonged to the government. More then 100 paintings and calligraphy arts on exhibition in the museum, created and provided to the museum by H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, were then embezzled into private hands. Without any necessity nor providing any compensation, the government purposedly demolished the only real estate owned by H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III in China — His residence located at No. 19, West Xinhua Road in Chengdu, Sichuan. To this day, that parcel of land, located at the center of the city’s business district, remains baron with nothing constructed on it.

On June 20, 2002, under the instruction of Chen Shaoji, the Shenzhen Police Bureau used a baseless cause of “defrauding through a contract” to issue a “Report Form To Place Criminal Case On File For Investigation And Prosecution” in order to establish a case on Yi Yungao. The report stated that Yi Yungao signed a contract with Liu Juan in April of 2000 to sell the already-sold Auspiciousness Building (Jixiang Property) in Shenzhen to Liu Juan and made 150 million CNYs from the fraud. The Shenzhen Police Bureau tortured Liu Juan to extort a deposition from her. Moreover, they planted a separate matter on Yi Yungao which involves Lau Pak Hun, a Hong Kong businessman, being defrauded by his Buddhist sister Wong Hiu Shui regarding a property. As a result, Liu Juan and Lau Pak Hun were the only two “victims” in the entire case as reported by the news media.

Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) prosecuted Wong Hiu Shui and her brother in November 2002 for their crime of illegally mortgaging the Master Yi Yungao Museum in Hong Kong to a bank in order to obtain a loan, and the High Court in Hong Kong subsequently sentenced them to 11 years and 7.5 years in jail respectively. Knowing well that Won Hiu Shui was the real criminal, the Guangdong Police Department, under the control of Chen Shaoji, had to obey and execute their boss’ order and framed the crime on H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. At the end of 2002, the Police Department of Guangdong Province still issued an arrest warrant for Yi Yungao, but the statement therein was contradictory to the case report of the Shenzhen Police Bureau, saying that He “obtained a property with a huge value of about 60 million CNYs from the victims by fraud.”

So, was the Shenzhen Police Bureau telling the truth, or was the Police Department of Guangdong Province? Who were these unfounded “victims”that did not really exist? Isn’t it ridiculous?

After being promoted as the Secretary of the Politics and Law Committee under the CPC Central Committee in Beijing and later the position of a Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Zhou Yongkang continued the persecution against H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Although INTERPOL did issue an arrest warrant of Red Notice near the end of 2004 based on a request by China, questions were quickly raised about the case right at that time. Therefore, the case was restarted and a detailed investigation lasting more than three years was launched. Eventually INTERPOL firmly determined that this was a fabricated false case to frame H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Meanwhile, the relevant government agencies in China also confirmed through verification that Yi Yungao did not commit any crime. They submitted a report to INTERPOL on June 11, 2008, requesting to rescind the arrest warrant. Think this: If the person is guilty, would China take an initiative to cancel the arrest warrant?

At the 72nd session of “the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files” held in October 2008, a conclusion of “Not Guilty” was reached and INTERPOL officially announced the cancelation of the arrest warrant for “Yi Yungao” as well as the entire case. Additionally, an official document was issued to inform all member nations not to detain “Yi Yungao.” INTERPOL also wrote a letter to H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III on this matter, which described the entire process.

The fact is that H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has never said or done anything that violated the law or committed a crime, nor has there been any “guilty verdict” against Him from any court or law-enforcement agency. He legally arrived at the United States on August 1, 1999 with a teaching invitation and subsequently obtained legal permanent residency. He has never returned to China since. H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has never formed a company in China. Not only has He never signed a contract or done any business with Liu Juan, but He also, by no means, had any authority to sign the contract even if He wanted to, because the company that owned the Auspiciousness Building (i.e. Jixiang Property) was not H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s. H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III never served any position at the company and was not even an employee. In fact, H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has never signed any contract with anyone!

The Police Bureau made a false accusation against H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III with no substantial evidence. They do not have a contract to show to the public at all,. They only have a false “Report Form To Place Criminal Case On File For Investigation And Prosecution” to smear H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III with. If they disagree , we ask them to post this contract on the Internet and let everyone see it.

As early as in 2003, Liu Juan already wrote a statement while in the United States and sent it to the Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court with notarization to attest that she was tortured into an extorted false deposition. “I had to say whatever the Police personnel wanted me to say according to their purposes,” she stated. She also stated that H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III absolutely had not defrauded her. The other “victim”, Lau Pak Hun, spoke publicly at a press conference held in Hong Kong on December 9, 2014, stating that H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III never defrauded him for money and it was Wong Hiu Shui who deceived him and defrauded his property. On April 23, 2015, Lau Pak Hun stated again in a written testimony: “My Master H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III never defrauded me! The person who defrauded me for more than 60 million Hong Kong dollars is my unworthy Buddhist sister Wong Hiu Shui. For that, the court in Hong Kong sentenced her to nine years imprisonment. She has received the punishment by law that she deserved. I always think that my Master H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is the greatest and the most selfless.”

Since the “victims” in the case as well as INTERPOL have successively testified and proven that this is a false case fabricated for framing H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, and since China has also requested INTERPOL to cancel the arrest warrant, why is the arrest warrant issued by the Police Department of Guangdong Province still online, and why has no decision been made to exonerate an innocent person? That is really the core of the entire matter!

According to information revealed, the unlawful police personnel in Guangdong and Shenzhen led by Chen Shaoji privately embezzled lots of money, properties, and valuables under the cloak of handling cases. Not only they robbed more than 700 paintings and calligraphy arts created by H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III out of painstaking efforts through several decades (which are conservatively worth more than 40 billion CNYs if calculated by the current auction prices of H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s art works), they robbed over 70 famous ancient paintings that Mr. Wu Wentou had bought for his collection, but also they plundered tens of kilograms of gold and jewelries as well as brand name watches and other valuables from the jewelry company owned jointly by Liu Juan and Wu Wentou. They are the avaricious “Big Tigers” who never refrain from eating humans!

Although the corrupt officials, including Zhou Yongkang and Chen Shaoji, in persecuting H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III were later sentenced to jail terms one after another due to their corruption and degeneration being uncovered in other cases, the embezzling and corrupt members of the police involved in this case are still within the rank of the Police Department of Guangdong Province. To cover up their crimes of embezzlement, they resist the cancelation of the arrest warrant by all means. Worrying about their embezzling acts being exposed, they spread rumors everywhere to describe H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as a bad person in order to delude the great masses and to hide their own embezzlement and corruption.

Another and even more important fact is that the greatly loving and greatly compassionate H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III never minds and never appeals or complains about any framing, persecution, or slandering against Him. When people of the “World Peace Prize Awarding Council” asked Him, after learning the facts, why He had not published INTERPOL’s conclusion from investigation to refute the rumors, H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III said, “I will bear all negative karmas and sins of living beings, and I will give all my good karmas and merit to you. These are the things I will do. If I show stuff to exonerate me, then the people who slandered me would be tarnished. Who will bear their sins and negative karmas in that case?”

According to the news media, H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III had already announced to the whole world since early years that He “would not accept offering from any people in this entire lifetime.” For all these decades, there have been innumerable instances where He declined offerings worth tens of millions or even more than 100 million from others. Moreover, at the “New York Spring Auction” in March 2015, a painting titled Ink Lotus that took less than two hours of H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s time to create was auctioned for 16.5 million U.S. dollars, the highest price realized at this spring auction, exceeding by far the prices of other paintings by famous ancient and modern Chinese artists sold there.

Could such a great person with huge wealth and accomplishments defraud people for money and property? This is certainly worth pondering. What is even more worthy of an investigation by the relevant government agencies in China is, who actually embezzled the properties valued more than 40 billion CNYs and all those gold and jewels weighing tens of kilograms?

Master Wan Ko Yees (H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III) Painting Was Sold at the Price of 300,000 US Dollars per Square Foot

The Painting at the Price of 900,000 US Dollars Was Not Sold

AN auction held by International Buddhism Sangha Association took place on February 7, 2007 in San Francisco. Three Chinese paintings were displayed. One of the paintings entitled “Two Flowers; One Lotus Capsule; One Dharma Nature” was sold at 300,000 US dollars per square foot.

The world renowned Great Buddhist Dharma King Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu (H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III) (also known as the great artist Master Wan Ko Yee) donated three valuable paintings as gifts to International Buddhism Sangha Association. At the time of the auction of these three paintings more than 10 people expressed an interest in buying them. After several competitive bidding rounds, the lotus painting was sold to an English collector Ian Hamilton at the price of US$300,000 per square foot. Another painting, “Plum Blossoms”, was sold at US$210,000 per square foot. However, the most anticipated painting, “Pasture in Spring (a shepherd boy herding cattle)”, was not sold at this time. “ Pasture in Spring ” was considered the most valuable of the three donated paintings. Even though the buyer raised the price to US$540,000 per square foot, the seller insisted that the price cannot be below US$900,000 per square foot. Therefore, this transaction was not completed because of the great difference between the prices.

SAN FRANCISCO / Buddha arrives in the Mission / German Lutheran church now serves growing Asian community

SAN FRANCISCO / Buddha arrives in the Mission / German Lutheran church now serves growing Asian community

(December 31, 2004, San Francisco Chronicle)

Inside an old German Lutheran church in San Francisco, Chinese nuns sit on the glossy wooden floors, wearing headphones, listening to Buddhist mantras on portable CD players.

Gone are the pews and the church piano, but the organ pipes and stained glass windows remain — a backdrop to giant Buddha statues at the Hua Zang Si temple, which opened its doors this week in the Mission District.

The Buddhist temple reflects the changing demographics of this working- class Latino neighborhood, and of the Bay Area.

“As the Asian immigrant population becomes more diverse and complex and comes into money, they want to do things that acknowledge and empower their heritage,” said John Nelson, an associate professor of religious studies at the University of San Francisco. “Temples are community centers, where people go to affirm their identity.”

On Dec. 26, Hua Zang Si began three days of ceremony to celebrate its opening and the birthday of Amitabha Buddha, one of the many Buddhas, who is believed to reside in the land of ultimate bliss. This Sunday, the temple will hold a ceremony starting at 10 a.m. to bless those who died as a result of the quake-caused tsunami in southern Asia.

Built in the 1900s, the structure originally housed St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Many in the immigrant German congregation likely worked at the nearby tanneries and breweries along Precita Creek, historians say. Located on 22nd Street, the church was just out of reach of the fire that razed much of the city following the 1906 earthquake.

After World War II, German, Italian and Irish families began moving from the Mission to the west side of San Francisco and out of the city.

In 1992, the congregation voted to serve the neighborhood’s growing Latino population, moving to a new church around the corner and renaming itself St. Mary and St. Martha Lutheran.

The old church became a private residence and was to be divided into condominiums, until the United International World Buddhism Association purchased it and the adjoining parish residence for $2.5 million in 2002, according to public records.

And so the temple was born, with a new set of red doors with traditional Chinese lion-headed knockers, Chinese signs and a Buddha in the lobby.

About two dozen nuns live at the temple compound. Each day, they rise around 5 a.m., and do not go to bed until midnight — meditating, praying and studying Buddhist teachings. The nuns watch television to get a better sense of what Americans are like, they say.

The nuns, in yellow and grey robes, venture out in the bustling neighborhood to buy groceries and supplies. The temple is down the street from Castillo Express, Elon’s Beauty Salon and Panchita’s, which serves South American food.

“We’re like other people. We have to eat, too,” Cheng Hsueh Shih said in Mandarin. The rosy-cheeked nun with a shaved head had hip rimless glasses and wooden prayer beads on her wrist. A vegetarian, she has tried the Mission’s famous burritos, but says she prefers Chinese food.

On a recent weekday, passers-by stopped and pointed at the temple, marveling at the Maitreya bodhisattva, or godlike being, visible behind the lobby’s glass doors. Chubby and smiling, he is a future Buddha, and is believed to currently reside in heaven.

“It’s great that it’s still being used for spiritual worship,” said Max Kirkeberg, a professor of geography at San Francisco State University who has chronicled changes to the city’s landscape for decades.

The temple bases its teachings on those of Sakyamuni Buddha, who lived about 2,500 years ago in what is now Nepal. It has not adopted the viewpoint of any particular sect and wants to attract a broad range of followers. Smaller branches of the temple are in San Jose and Sanger (Fresno County). Hua Zang Si joins more than a dozen Buddhist institutions in San Francisco, including the Sokoji-Soto Zen temple in Japantown and the Rigpa Center in the South of Market.

On the first floor of the temple, in the Precious Hall of the Great Heroes, a statute of Sakyamuni Buddha dominates. Skanda bodhisattva, a general clad in armor with a sword, stands to his right, protecting the temple from evil.

The temple’s giant Buddhas were constructed in Taiwan, divided into pieces and reassembled inside by artisans.

Before the Buddhas sit offerings of coffee, grapefruit, apples, boxes of raisins, cans of Coca-Cola, incense and artwork.

Dong Ai-Yuan, a disciple visiting from Fresno, said she became a Buddhist about 15 years ago. The religion helps bring her peace and good luck, and keeps her family safe, she said, adding that she has no fear of the future because she knows what her fate holds.

On the second floor, a 21-foot-tall Amitabha Buddha, draped in a red robe, fills one end of the room.

Before him, a thousand cups of water, changed daily, serve as an offering to Buddha. Nearby is a ceremonial wooden drum shaped like a fish. To learn as much as they can, the devoted must never rest and never close their eyes — like a fish.

The backyard — a city oasis in the shadow of surrounding Victorians —

is home to a magnolia tree, which the faithful say rained nectar for three days, along with a miraculous lotus tub used in the bathing of the Buddha dharma, or teachings.

In front, the building’s cornerstone carries an inscription in German referring to a New Testament text about the house of God, built upon the foundation of apostles, prophets and Jesus Christ.

Now, beside the cornerstone, in gold Chinese characters on black background, a sign reads: This temple will teach you how to become a better person.

The Dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has changed my life – when no money, no job, no home, and my dear love gone

The Dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has changed my life

– when no money, no job, no home, and my dear love gone

It’s a warm sunny Monday in California as I sit in my local cafe and sip my cup of tea. Today, I share my personal journey of pain, suffering and loss and how I have come to experience a joyful and fulfilled life.

I, Patricia Ann Farrell, a disciple of His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III, today will share out of great compassion for all living beings, a personal story of how I transformed my pain from a loss of the dearest love in my life.

In June 2014, I received the news my love, Buddhist brother, musical performing partner, and best friend left this world. I was at my Buddhist temple, Hua Zang Si in San Francisco, CA. As I was speaking to one of the monastics (nun), I received a call that my love had passed away. It was very fortunate to be at my temple when the call came! I could not even speak. I handed the phone to the monastic and went to the Sakyamuni Buddha Hall in the temple. As I cried in shock and pain, I bowed to the visage of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and the solemn 22-foot statue of Sakyamuni Buddha (Disciple of a manifestation of Dorje Chang Buddha) The place I was certain to receive help was from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in this time of deep pain and suffering! I was overwhelmed with this notion of such a loss. My pain was like a sharp knife in my heart!

I have been learning the true Buddha-dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III for fifteen years and have received limitless blessings over the years which has helped me to transform my heart-wrenching pain into joy and happiness today!

On this day in June 2014, I was told by the monastic, “Patricia, do not worry about your future!” The faith in my heart deep as all the oceans knew this: my pain could not allow me to see through the thick fog of my mind! I knew my journey as a Buddhist disciple of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III was going to assist others to liberation and that working through my pain and turmoil was preparing me to do so. Today, I am very clear and certain of this fact!

Almost three years later….I now, share with you deep from my heart, my own truth:

“How can I not worry about my future,” I asked myself. I was on unemployment at the time of his passing with only two months left till I had no money! I would also have to move from our beautiful home and find a new place to live, but how? No money, no job, no home and my dear love gone, all at once!!! My faith, cultivation level and how I would choose to apply my learning from the true Buddha dharma of my Buddha Master, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, would be put to a test. I knew my greatest work as a Buddhist disciple to benefit living beings was about to begin!

I received a call from my brother in Florida, he said: “Sister, come down here and live with us, be here with family!” Sure….I could live in a very big beautiful home, no stress, comfortable and safe. That sounded really sweet. I even considered it for a few days! I asked myself, “how can I possibly go towards safe and comfort when there are so many living beings suffering like myself?” I had the “key” to unlock all of the suffering of the world. It would be selfish for me to throw away this key for even “ONE DAY!” I am so fortunate to be a human in this world and have even greater fortune to encounter the true holy Buddha-dharma of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.

“NO!”, I shouted in my head, ”this is my own karma and I need to clean it up so I may help others.” This was my vow and deep motivation to keep moving forward with a heart of compassion for my own suffering, so that I may deepen my compassion for others! My cultivation, learning the Buddha-dharma from my Buddha Master, volunteering at my temple Hua Zang Si and assisting my community together, brought me the good fortune of receiving financial assistance from my Buddhist brothers and sisters at my temple as well as a place to live, food and an abundance of loving support from the sangha at my Temple and my Buddhist family!  Within three months, I had a wonderful job and my own apartment in a beautiful small community in the east bay!

Today, almost three years later, my financial fortune has increased, my job is wonderful and fulfilling, my community is growing and abundant, my health is good, and my pain has transformed to brightness and joy in my heart! Life will always have its difficulties and challenges, I do experience them. However, I have great joy in my heart knowing I have that “key” – the key of learning the true holy Buddha-dharma of Sakyamuni Buddha and my Buddha Master, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. This is the very true reason I was able to be with my pain and deep suffering while continuing my Buddhist studies, volunteering at my temple and assisting others while re-building my whole life from scratch!

I concluded knowing deep in my heart that others’ suffering is my own suffering.

I am neither different nor better than you,

I am just fortunate to have found the key to unlock the suffering of my own karma!

With a humble heart and deep gratitude to my Buddha Master,

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III,

All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions,

My Buddhist brothers and sisters,

The wonderful sangha of Hua Zang Si,

May all the merits from sharing my personal story benefit all living beings whom are my family to have a happy and prosperous life with good health and an abundance of good fortune!

Amitabha Buddha!

With a sincere and humble heart,

Patricia Ann Farrell, a Buddhist disciple of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III

Dharma Assembly of Empowerment by Kuan Shi Yin Bodhisattva’s Mind of Great Compassion

Dharma Assembly of Empowerment by Kuan Shi Yin Bodhisattva’s Mind of Great Compassion

——A Note Written Afterwards to Describe the Most Magnificent Scene at the Site

At 3 o’clock in the afternoon on September 1, 2016, the crowd gathered at the Sakyamuni Buddha Hall at Hua Zang Si in San Francisco, USA, finally welcomed the beginning of the Dharma Assembly of Empowerment by Kuan Shi Yin Bodhisattvas Mind of Great Compassion, which they have eagerly waited for more than 10 years. The dharma assembly was led by the current abbess Great Dharma Master Ruo Hui to practice the dharma.

The dharma assembly was attended by monastics of the temple and laypersons of good faith. Some of them also served as dharma protectors during the dharma assembly. At that time, the wide, brightly illuminated, and clean great hall was in an atmosphere of plain and pure peace. All attendees were standing inside a wide and spacious area defined by blue-colored labels. After following the leading dharma master to prostrate three times to pay homage to the Buddha and practice the mantras, a brief introduction was given by Dharma Master Ruo Hui that stated the requirements for practicing the dharma to the attending crowd. Next, all followed her verbal signal to close eyes, stand with shoulders relaxed, and raise arms to the horizontal position to enter into the state of the dharma.

We are boundlessly grateful to the empowerment from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and the greatly loving and compassionate Kuan Shi Yin Bodhisattva! We are grateful to Dharma Master Ruo Hui for leading the dharma practice to let all monastics and laypersons who came to the empowerment dharma assembly to receive the magnificent empowerment from the Buddha power and generate responses at various degrees!

In less than one minute after the empowerment dharma assembly had started, Monastic Shi Zhengding was the first to begin swinging the upper body spontaneously to enter the state of getting empowerment. Immediately after, elder Monastic Shi Zhengjian standing in the first row also entered the state. Then, the sound of open and unconstrained laughing filled with dharma joy loudly reached every corner of the grand hall. A few minutes after the start, two elder laypersons standing in the last row began to bend their waists forward and either shake their body or knock their knees at the tune of a rhyming frequency. Did they do so by their own intention? We learned from the experience-sharing session held after the dharma assembly that they all individually received the magnificent empowerment from Kuan Yin Bodhisattva and the Buddha force. One can now lift both arms that could not be lifted by force for a long time. Also, the two kneels that were heavy, stiff, and painful due to fatigue and wearing have now been cured by the empowerment from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Also, another layperson described that she received nectar dropped down from Kuan Yin Bodhisattva’s willow branch and the pain in her shoulder and arm immediately disappeared.

My dharma name is Shi Zhengxin. I am also one of the attendees of this empowerment dharma assembly. I was standing at a position in the third row between two round pillars. The space around me was very wide and open, but I just stood there without any movement from beginning to end. The description from a monastic who is more senior than me is “Kept staying there like a wooden pole!” As seen from the recorded video, it truly appears that I did not move away from the position I stood at, did not change my body posture, did not open my eyes, and was not interfered by the external state. I now share some of the sensation and correspondence that occurred within me and my experience from the magnificent empowerment by the Buddha force:

With the instruction of “Begin!” from the master in charge, I immediately felt a cleansing and cool flow spread all over my body and percolating inside me.

During the first several minutes I still knew that I was standing inside the Sakyamuni Buddha Hall. The laughter from the senior monastics before me entered my ears and was echoing continuously. Then a monastic next to me fell to the ground and cried loudly, while stepping her feet on the floor. None of these incidents interfered with my clean and pure inner mind. A caption in motion with the writing of “Realizing there is no state outside the mind, no idea will be generated.” began to appear repeatedly inside my brain. Without knowing how long had passed thereafter, the caption disappeared without a trace. My body only felt cleanness, purity, and becoming empty. Next, the left hand vanished; the left arm vanished; the right hand vanished; and the right arm vanished. After that, my left foot, left leg, right foot, right leg, eyes, nose, and ears all successively disappeared, in this order. All of a sudden, my body transformed into a lump of white light and leaped upward into the space.

While ascending, I felt that the back-lower piece of my monastic robe flew up. Next, I was in the sky and passing through white clouds. I first saw the Sun. Then, while I continued to fly forward horizontally, the Moon came to me. At the moment of passing the Moon from below, a total and full illumination was before my eyes. Right after that, a huge round of rotating purple light that was expanding through the space pushed toward me from far away. My eyes were covered by white color. I raised my head to look upward and saw that the wavy white color was an extremely huge skirt. Looking further up, I saw the waist-long black long hair. Then I saw the left hand and the face. The skin was lustrously white like cream…… Ah, Kuan Yin Bodhisattva came! Yes, He is Kuan Yin Bodhisattva. His body brought breezy and refreshing wind. He passed from right to left lightly and swiftly before my eyes. He lightly and gently touched my raising hands with His tremendously big warm and soft but power-carrying hand. My face opened up a beautiful smile. At this time, without knowing why, I saw below that the crowd attending the dharma assembly were no longer in the Sakyamuni Buddha Hall and, rather, were in a magnificently majestic palace, where beautifully pleasing heavenly music was playing and echoing. I tried to identify and recognize everyone, but they were not whom I knew in the crowd. Then they and the sound from them went further and further away from me.

Next, my both hands slowly descended down to my waist. Then, I put my palms together in front of my chest and formed a mudra that I had never made before. When the dharma assembly ended, the time was exactly 52 minutes and 53 seconds after 3 o’clock. My body and mind felt a kind of lightness, pleasure, and fulfilment that I had never experienced before.

I most sincerely prostrate to H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III,

I most sincerely prostrate to the greatly loving, greatly compassionate, and calamity-relieving Namo Kuan Shi Yin Bodhisattva,

For Their empowerment that bestowed corresponding benefits to all attendees of the dharma assembly. I am also grateful to Dharma Master Ruo Hui for benefiting the messes with a compassionate heart.
